Pop-up emitters are a relatively inexpensive downspout drain option. They are compact devices that connect directly to an existing downspout. Placed several feet from the foundation, a hose runs through a channel and connects to the emitter.
Water is directed off the roof, through the downspout, and then to the emitter. The emitter then distributes the water over a sizeable area, preventing water damage to your home’s foundation. This process also hinders erosion and other landscaping damage. Emitters only open when water pressure builds up to a specific point. Leaves, sticks, and other debris that clog normal drains are much less likely to occur.
